Andrea Modica | American, 1960 -

Modica earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from Yale University.

Her photographs have been exhibited in solo exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, and the Cleveland Museum of Art.

She has been awarded many fellowships and grants for her photographs, including a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship and an Aaron Siskind Foundation Grant.

Her award winning books include: Minor League (1993), Treadwell (1996), Human Being (2001), Real Indians (2003), Barbara (2004), and Fountain (2008).

Modica’s photographs are in the permanent collections of the Princeton University Art Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Nelson Atkins Museum of Art and numerous others.
