Wright Morris | American, 1910 - 1998

Wright Morris's approach to making photographs was rooted in the notion of tradition and the subject of the vernacular. Simple forms and the eloquence of familiar things were explored throughout Morris's career. In 1942 he traveled America on a Guggenheim Fellowship producing photographs that resulted in the book, The Inhabitants, a literary original comprised of images and fictional text. Morris's photographs are in numerous important collections including: The Museum of Modern Art, The Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, and The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
