For much of her career, Faiya Fredman was known for large-scale sculpture and mixed-media paintings. She has found inspiration in the cycles of life, nature, the cosmos, ancient astronomy and mythologies, and archaeological artifacts. She has documented the decomposition of sea life on the beach near her former home in Del Mar, and indexed archeological excavations on the Mediterranean.

A few years ago, she began experimenting with new technologies, and the result is an eye-catching juxtaposition of the natural world with digital manipulation. She begins with found natural items, like leaves or flowers, and draws out their innermost beauty and elegance. She currently resides in La Jolla, California.
