Robert Doisneau | French, 1912 - 1994

One of France's premier photographers, whose whimsical and modest depictions of contemporary Parisian streets and cafes convey what he calls, "The marvels of daily life." Major exhibitions on Doisneau's photographs have been held at Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the George Eastman House. His photographs have also been the topic of over 20 books, and reproduced in major anthologies on the medium.
